My Philosophy We are each so unique. Therefore, I like to provide an environment full of creativity, flexibility and humor during the counseling process. Challenging your self-perception, understanding your emotions, and changing your unhelpful behaviors requires tough work, but you won’t be doing it alone. I believe that for counseling to be effective, both you and I must be actively engaged in the process. Together we can begin identifying your needs, developing goals and assessing progress. Outside of session, there may be homework assignments such as journal writing, reading, art or other methods of self-discovery and expression. I will challenge you, in an empathetic manner, to look within and develop greater self-awareness. The hope is that you will gain knowledge and tools, not only to overcome your immediate obstacles, but to facilitate continued growth and development long after therapy has ended.
